Hawks Hired highlights the accomplishments of soon to be RWU graduates as they finalize the next steps on their career journeys. Kailey will soon be a Paralegal at Voce located in Harrisburg, PA. Read on to learn more about her next chapter following graduation.

What is your major/was your major at RWU? My major at Roger Williams was both Legal Studies and Anthropology and Sociology.

Graduation year? I will be graduating in May 2023 (graduating a year early!)

Where is your next adventure?: In June, I will be returning to a Girl Scout Camp, Camp Valley, Halifax PA returning as the unit leader supervisor. However, after the summertime I will be at Voce as a paralegal doing adoption advocacy in Harrisburg, PA. Also, I am considering law school within the next year or so to pair alongside my paralegal role.

What was the process like of landing this job/next opportunity? I conducted direct search through Google, I knew that I wanted to do Family Law in some way, and found their company online and applied to all the jobs in the surrounding area and scored one with them, which I am very happy and thankful about!

Who helped you during your job search/graduate school process? Richelle Hurley helped with direct searches, she used Handshake and LinkedIn but also conducted research on other sites to give me an idea on how to find opportunities. Kevin Deeb helped with networking on LinkedIn and understanding the power and importance of it. RI Family Court internship helped show my transferrable skills during interview preparations.

What advice do you have to students who are in the process of finding a job/going to graduate school? Keep at it, and do not settle for something that you won’t enjoy or won’t make money doing, there are so many jobs out there, you just have to work hard to find them.
