What was your program of study at RWU? My program of study was English Secondary Education.
Graduation year? I graduated this year, 2024.
Where is your next adventure? (Company/School and Role) I just began teaching ninth and tenth grade English at Attleboro High School!
What are you most looking forward to in this new role? I’m really looking forward to engaging students in exploring literature and language in ways that connect with their lives and experiences. I’m also excited to collaborate with colleagues and experiment with diverse teaching methods that help students find their voice and express their perspectives. Ultimately, I want to create an inclusive, dynamic classroom environment where students feel both challenged and supported.
What was the process like of landing this job/next opportunity? Every job search process is unique. For me, I applied and interviewed at several places, and this role had a two-round interview process. After completing both rounds, I was thrilled to be offered the position!
Who helped you during your job search/graduate school process? I received two recommendation letters—one from my cooperating teacher and one from my field supervisor. My cooperating teacher offered invaluable advice and regularly checked in with me throughout my job search, providing support every step of the way.
