Roger Williams Internship and Career Fairs

Each semester Roger Williams University partners with employers from a variety of industries looking to recruit Hawks for job opportunities and internships. The CCPD manages school-specific and all major internship and career fairs to offer students and employers the unique opportunity to connect and engage.

Virtual Internship & Career Fairs

What is a virtual internship & career fair? Living in a virtual environment can make it  difficult to form interpersonal connections with employers. The CCPD works to remedy this challenge by offering a completely virtual career fair experience for students to meet with employers and become a prime candidate for internships and jobs, all online.  Through the virtual internship & career fair hosted on Handshake, students will have the opportunity to meet with employers in group and 1:1 video sessions.

Ways to Engage

All virtual fairs are located in Handshake. To access a Fair and to register for the event, visit > Events > Career Fair. You will need to register for the event to unlock employer schedules and sign-up for your sessions.

1:1 vs Group Sessions

  • Group sessions

Group sessions are designed to be informational sessions for employee representatives and recruiters to market their business and available opportunities. Employers will be displayed on the screen and will only be able to view participating student names. If you are a student looking for general information on a company, registering for a group session is the right choice for you!

  • 1:1 Sessions

1:1 sessions provide the opportunity to chat with a recruiter or an employee representative about jobs and internships. These brief 1:1 sessions allow you to ask questions of employers, seek information regarding an open position, and provide a means to network. If you are a student looking to make a personal connection with an employer attending the virtual fair, registering for 1:1 sessions are the right choice for you!

How to Prepare

Although virtual, proper preparation to engage with employers in a fair setting is very important. Review the following checklist and meet with a career advisor to ensure you are fully prepared and confident to speak with employers about internship and job opportunities.
