Practicum vs Traditional

Students who follow a practicum model meet with their faculty sponsor once a week with a designated class time to review internship experience and reflect on their experience. Students who follow a traditional internship model will complete 135 hours, no classroom time. View the chart below to learn about different requirements for different majors.

  • Traditional Internship Registration Requirements

    Students who do not fall into the major groups below will follow a traditional internship registration model. For more information view this handout HERE .

  • Psychology (PSYCH 499)

    Students who wish to receive credit for a Psychology Internship will have 15 hrs of classroom time a week with 120 hrs at their internship. For more information about how to register a psychology internship view this handout HERE .

  • Justice Studies (CJ 469/SEC 469/LS 469)
    Public Health (PH 460)

    Students in the School of Justice Studies will complete 15 hrs of classroom time a week with 120 hrs at their internship.
    Public Health majors will complete 45 hrs of classroom time a week with 120 hrs at their internship.
