Internship is available for the 2020-2021 winter intersession, Nov. 30 – Feb. 1.
*Upon completion of internship, candidates may be provided the opportunity to return as a paid Event Day Staff Team Member

Job Overview:
Work to prepare for and carry out the WaterFire event, focusing on special events, receptions, performers and operations-related tasks. Partake in a variety of activities including clerical and administrative tasks, assist with event planning and coordination, work in the WFAC retail outlet. Assist with set-up and breakdown of event venues; work with volunteers to complete tasks and projects, conduct research directed toward event-related artwork and performance. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career in Event Management!
Interns will Gain Experience in:
WaterFire is a seasonal event, and responsibilities will vary accordingly per the discretion of WaterFire Providence administration.
· Event planning and on-site execution including set-up and event strike
· Set-up, decorating and management of reception spaces, performance areas and stages
· Procuring and organizing supplies for events
· Maintaining up-to-date event documents including contact sheets, production schedules, and other internal documents as assigned
· Volunteer management
· Conducting general research of new event concepts and designs
· Researching new vendors/performers and updating database
· Corresponding with vendors, performers and affiliates
· Conducting Post-Event Analysis
Requirements and Qualifications:
- MUST have access to a car and possess a valid Driver’s License
- Must be a self-motivated, confident manager and capable delegator
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work all full WaterFire event days will be required during internship dates, occasional Tuesday evenings
- Previous event volunteer experience is a plus
- Must be responsible and have a strong sense of professionalism
- Must have a genuine interest in art, culture, community, and WaterFire
- Must have a sense of humor
- Must be competent in MS Office, Google Apps, general computer and internet knowledge
