The Project Engineer is responsible for assisting the Telecom Project Managers with the evaluation and reporting required for the supervision of Telecommunication projects. Ensures successful execution of field work activities and labor tracking, material coordination, equipment coordination, job cost reporting, take offs and close out documentation.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist Telecom Managers in gathering, preparing, reviewing and processing various project documents – permits, submittals, contracts, budget information, purchase orders, buy-outs, schedules
- Process change proposal takeoff and entry, including time and material changes
- Prepare Operations & Maintenance manuals for client at closeout
- Track labor hours against budgeted hours
- Communicate with and support Telecom Foremen
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelors or Associates degree and/or Telecom field work experience equivalent
- Good computer skills especially Microsoft excel and word
- Understanding project cycles
- Good interpersonal, communication, negotiation skills
- Comfortable communicating with people
- Ability to prioritize in fast paced environment
