Hawks Hired! Jordan Pivarnik ’23

Graduating Senior Jordan Pivarnik has been an exemplary display of taking advantage of experiential learning through his academic experience at Roger Williams University. As a student within the AACSB Accredited Gabelli School of Business, Jordan will be graduating Summa Cum Laude in May 2023 with his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance with a minor in Political Science. During his time at Roger Williams University, Jordan has successfully completed internships, excelled in his academic coursework, and managed a collegiate sport within the Men’s Lacrosse Team. His academic planning has allowed him opportunities for career advancement, expressing the true quality and value of a Gabelli School of Business education at Roger Williams University.

Jordan took full advantage of the opportunity to immerse himself in the financial industry to advance his professional experiences in wealth management. Jordan was able to utilize the robust alumni network that exists within Dr. Michael Melton’s Center for Advanced Financial Education program at RWU to secure a summer opportunity crediting RWU alum Alexander Palios, a Financial Advisor and Portfolio Manager at Morgan Stanley as his entry point into the industry. During the Summer of 2022, Jordan completed a Wealth Management Internship with Morgan Stanley where he worked with financial advisors to strengthen and build clientele within the company. Jordan successfully built his network, communicating with C Suite executives from private equity companies while also developing his expertise in wealth management. His experience was further enhanced in Fall of 2022 upon his acceptance into Roger Williams University’s Center for Advanced Financial Education (CAFÉ) program where he operated as a Student Fund Manager. There, Jordan was able to analyze the global market and contribute to the management of various funds, as well as actively engage in daily reporting to stakeholders and leadership to ensure the successful performance of portfolios that he collaborated on. Jordan was able to leverage the CAFÉ program’s impressive alumni network, interviewing with a fellow alum in hopes of advancing his career trajectory.

Upon graduation, Jordan will be pursuing a full-time position at GAMCO Investments, an opportunity graciously provided by Roger William University Trustee Mario J. Gabelli, whose interest in and support of our school has made an impactful difference in our students’ careers. With the help of RWU alumni Tim Indiveri, VP of Gabelli & Partners, Jordan was able to connect with various professionals within GAMCO Investments to solidify his post-graduation plan. Jordan will be working alongside senior management to develop areas in sales, trading, operations, and research, applying his knowledge learned from the CAFÉ program and gained at Morgan Stanley to best manage current and prospective clients’ expectations.

Jordan’s spirit in interpersonal, communication, and organization skills will allow him to successfully integrate into the field, expressing himself as a leader, critical thinker, and overall team-oriented professional. Jordan is grateful for his experiences and the network he has built and can be quoted stating, “Without the opportunities I have been able to achieve thanks to Roger Williams University, I would not be where I am today in my career, to which I am forever grateful.”

We look forward to following Jordan on his professional journey and gaining another impressive alumni connection in the finance industry.
