Internship Requirements by Major
Traditional Internship Model
Students in programs of study that follow a traditional internship model complete 45 hours of work for their internship site per credit. All majors that require a traditional internship consist of 135 hours working for their internship site for 3 credits with no classroom time. Internships can be completed during the Fall, Spring, Winter, and Summer intersession.
*Note: the Internship and Career Planning Seminar is a pre-requisite for registering an internship for credit and must be completed at least one semester prior to registering an internship for credit. For more information on the Internship and Career Planning Seminar click HERE.
Practicum Internship Model
Students in a program of study that follows a practicum internship model have a classroom component in addition to site hours. Students in a practicum internship will complete 120 hours at their internship site with 15 hours of classroom time. Students apart of a practicum model have different approval processes.
