Roger Williams Hawks increasingly take advantage of Schimenti’s hands on internships programs, gaining real world experience with cutting-edge construction practices while working on key project management and leadership skills. The company’s active and collaborative environment helps students learn and thrive, setting them up for success in the fast-paced construction industry.

With Schimenti holding an illuminated presence, the Center for Career and Professional Development had the opportunity to connect with students on their enriching experiences.

Danny Wilson, a graduating senior of the Construction Management program, accepted a Field Engineer role with Schimenti after interning with the company over the summer. He spoke about how his internship solidified his passion for his future employment.

“I learned hands-on tasks in the field throughout my internship that showed my passion for this industry.” When asked about why he chose Schimenti, he responded, “The environment they put me in for my internship showed their commitment to their employees and how they wanted to bring knowledge to their interns.

Matt Butler, who recently completed the rotational program with Schimenti, accepted a full-time position at Schimenti upon graduation.

When asked about the rotational program with Schimenti, Matt responded, “Schimenti’s rotational program helped me determine which part of the industry I wanted to work in. They were very professional throughout the program and proved this is where I wanted to continue my professional career.”

Chris Giorgi, an architecture major who will graduate in the spring, accepted a full-time position with Schimenti and spoke about the support and guidance that Schimenti provided throughout the process.

Sam Zichelli who will be interning with Schimenti over the summer had talked about the different opportunities he had previously and how working with Schimenti stood out to him.“I had the opportunity to intern with a company that specifically worked on railroads and then experienced my time meeting with Schimenti. I am excited to learn far more from a project management viewpoint as well as what I could see myself doing post-graduation.”
